So, I missed my update for Cats in the Kitchen on Monday, and didn’t make my goal of posting the comic yesterday, a big part of it is that I’m kind of burnt out. My brain, it seems, has made a shift from comics to games, and I keep stepping away from my desk to work on a Yellow-Stickies-on-Exposure-Sheet, (I’ll take pictures tomorrow) Board game prototype.

I’m pretty excited about this one. I’ve drawn a lot of elements from games that my group plays regularly, so there will be concepts they can grasp at first go. My previous attempts at prototyping basically failed because I went too far out of the box. (A real-time abstract trading game. A card-driven fantasy wargame with 100% player-created content) This one is basically synthesized from Stone Age, Steam and Power Grid, with some dice-based combat thrown in.  It’s gonna be so cool!

Also cool is that I’ve got some of the artsy types from Vancoufur interested in helping illustrate it. End product will probably be revealed at next year’s con.
