(Reblogged from my blog)
So, I haven’t heard from either of my clients in about a week, meaning that the mental block I mentioned in my most recent blog post on Cats in the Kitchen has been more or less forcefully cleared. So today was focused mainly on CitK, mostly finishing up the script for this “season”. If you’ll recall, my original plan for this year was to run three 3-month seasons with one month breaks in between. But then I got hit with a case of hiatus, and went down to one update a week again, so I ended up posting through. I’m coming to a good splitting-off point in the next few updates though, and I’m going to take a break to build up a buffer and work on some other projects. Specifically Starfighters Unlimited and Rocketsword. I worked on next Monday’s update a bit too, it’s a pretty complex scene, considering I’ve been leaning on blank backgrounds a lot recently, and trying to make that mental switch from colouring to drawing is a huge thing. There are reasons why CitK is in Black and White, this is one of them. It’s like driving in England. Glorious Trainwrecks is hosting a “Free-For-All Klickfest” which is basically going to be a week of people making horrible, broken, stupid, brilliant, fun games. I’m a huge fan of this kind of thing, the IGF Pirate Kart has taken up most of my gaming time since it was released, and once I get a couple comics lined up, I’m definitely going to hash together some kind of game or something. Speaking of making games, I was listening through episodes of Spark I’d missed and heard about a cool little AI program called Angelina. She is designed to make games, and has recently branched out into trying to make meaningful games using news stories as inspiration. The results are turning out pretty Trainwrecky, and it’s neat to see how much you can read into a piece of art created by algorithms. It’s like a Pollack game.

I’ll be posting little one-off drawings and stuff here We’ll see what happens.
